Erika Gönczi is a writer and illustrator living in Switzerland. After working as a graphic designer, she felt the need to explore and develop her own creativity, and thus began writing and illustrating tales. Peter, the protagonist of her stories, is inspired by Erika herself. His adventures are drawn from some of the author's own journeys, and even unconsciously, reflect her inner struggles.

The story Lost in France is inspired by the picturesque French Mediterranean landscape, as part of her family lives in the South of France. The story begins in the sunny city of Cannes, passing through the magical setting of Gourdon, then takes Peter to walk to the cobblestones of Paris. She drew most of the illustrations based on real locations, including the fountain from the charming village of Gourdon, which features in the storybook.

Her tales, sprinkled with humor, are both instructive and heartwarming, making them enjoyable for children and parents alike. They explore essential virtues for each stage of life, such as patience and courage.

The illustrations are created using Caran d'Ache Luminance pencils and the result is achieved by retouching after scanning, giving them a warm, inviting feel.
